PRE-EMPLOYMENT AND PERIODIC EMPLOYEE PHYSICAL EXAMINATIONS Annual physical examination and evaluation, along with patient education, can help to ensure that your employees meet the demands of their careers over the long haul. It is also paramount to review a job candidate's physical abilities up front to see if they have any pre-existing injuries or limitations that may inhibit them from being a productive employee for you. Keeping your work force healthy will pay you great dividends by reducing expenses and increasing productivity.
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (DOT) PHYSICALS Midlands Occupational Medicine has newly required FMCSA Certified Medical Examiners. We perform physicals per DOT standards to keep your drivers and their cargo safe on the road. Any noted abnormalities will be reported to your employees for follow-up with their primary physician to pursue further work-up when needed.
INJURY AND ILLNESS EVALUATION, MANAGEMENT, AND FOLLOW-UP Our goal is to keep your employees in the work force, or to return them to the work force as soon as appropriate. By having Midlands Occupational Medicine actively manage your employee injuries and illnesses early on in the process, we can greatly reduce the risk of those injuries and illnesses turning into chronic, long term, or permanent absences from your work force. This has the potential of saving you a great deal of expense in the long run.
RAPID URINE DRUG SCREEN Pre-employment or periodic drug screening on your job candidates and employees. We can do a rapid 10 panel screen in-house and have results in minutes. The urine can then be sent for MRO review to the lab of your choice should you so desire. We can also do collection of hair /saliva specimens for testing as you request.
BREATH ALCOHOL TESTING We have in-house equipment for Breath Alcohol Testing that can be done per your request at random, post accident, or if deemed reasonable by you for any cause.
HEARING SCREENS (CAOHC Certified) Performed during a pre-employment exam or done annually as part of a hearing conservation plan.
QUANTIFIED GRIP STRENGTH TESTING Using our equipment, we are able to quantify the grip strength of your employees in pounds or kilograms per your desire. Serial examinations can be provided to determine increases or decreases in strength as part of a Workman’s Comp evaluation. Baseline testing is also available.
FUNCTIONAL STRENGTH TESTING Complete functional testing using weight requirements per your request. We are capable of doing push/pull testing using both a sled and a two wheel hand truck. We also do lift testing per your height and weight requirements. We can provide you with baseline or post injury return to work testing.
SPIROMETRY (NIOSH Certified) Pre-employment or periodic lung capacity testing. Monitor your employees’ functional lung capacities to evaluate the outcomes of your preventative measures.
RESPIRATORY FIT TESTING Respiratory fit testing can be completed in-house by our certified staff professionals to meet your respiratory protection needs.
RADIOGRAPHY We are able to evaluate and diagnose injuries with our on-site x-ray equipment. Any x-ray is able to be sent out to your company physician or to B-Reader for further review if needed.
BLOOD SCREENING Blood testing done at discounted prices. Any blood test or screen can be done at your request and may include complete blood profiles, as well as review of cholesterol, blood sugar levels, and heavy metals. Blood collection can be done as well and sent to an outside facility as needed.
